Tales of the Assbringer 2008

This is a three page comic that I made and gave to my brother for his birthday. He likes to play World of Warcraft (WoW), and he had this really funny idea about a typo happening in the game. The concept involved a sword missed named the Assbringer (from the ingame item 'Ashbringer'), and we started to talk about what powers an Assbringer would have! Originaly I was just inspired to create one image, but then it continued to develop into a short comic. I started off with sketches and then scanned them in and used photoshop to create the coloured files.

I've never attempted a comic before and I have to lift my imaginary hat off to those who develop this art form week after week. This small comic took me about 2 months, during my free time. I had no idea how to pull all my ideas together, and even with reading lots of comics and books on graphic novels it was still a challenge. The backgrounds were the part that really stumped me, having spent 80% of the time on the character poses and facial expressions, I hadn't thought at all about the environments they were to be placed in! Whoops! Well I think it turned out okay :D

Special thanks go to the very generous man from the printers in Brunel industrial estate, who printed the comic for me at very short notice on a saturday!! Thanks man!

The protagonists of the comic are Rappidstorm, my brothers character, and Torayara, my character from back-in-the-day when I used to play Wow.

Just to be clear I don't pretent to own any of the character designs or concepts of World of Warcraft. Those are Blizzards. This was just for fun.
